  I am so happy to hear that this church is still alive and well. In June, 1969, my first husband (sorry it did not take) and I eloped to Georgia and through a series of obstacles, that in the end proved to be for the good, we were married by the pastor at that time, at approximately 3:00 in the morning! Two wonderful deputies who we looked to for help, woke their pastor in the middle of the night, at which time he opened the church, and two young people became husband and wife with the husband's family looking on.
  
  We were probably too young to stay married (not so young anymore), but I will never forget the kindness of the law and the Lord in Valdosta, Georgia.
